grass is moist and mossy. This has traces of metal like zinc in it and a study done in Korea involving six mushrooms that have traces of metal, the witches hat had the highest concentrate. It is one of the only mushrooms that turn black during the aging process. This mushroom is one of the most comon in northern europe makeing these waxcaps extremely popular. They grow in groups like a colony or small village. It is unknown if they are edible or not because of a report from China that there was a poisioning during the early 20th century allegedly caused by this mushroom. Its predators are unknown besides humans. |
